The first batch of robot parts will be ordered next week, so groups that have already signed up can look forward to that. Some documentation has been added to the website for those looking to see exactly what we will be working with. If you haven’t already nominated yourself or a team, and would like …

Workshop 4: Mechanical Design
Thursday March 26 at 17:00 – 19:00 GP – G216 This week we will be introducing fundamental concepts in mechanical design as they apply to robotics, and the use of CAD programs for modelling.
Workshop 3: Soldering
March 19, 5pm, GP-S902 For the past two weeks, we’ve been focusing on creating circuits on a breadboard, and then designing it as a PCB circuit. Now we’re going to solder it (noticing a trend?). Please note that due to WHS requirements, it is of utmost importance to wear enclosed shoes.
New Robotics Competition Available!
If you’re interested in participating in a new robotics competition this semester, see the project page for NQRoS.
Workshop 2: PCB Design
12 March at 17:00 in GP-S1129 Last week we made a simple 555 timer circuit on a breadboard. This week, we’re extrapolating on that by designing a similar circuit as a circuit board.
Workshop 1: Circuits
5 March at 17:00–19:00 in GP-S902 Kicking the semester off with a workshop on circuits, feat. breadboards and 555 timers. Hope to see you there! PSA! Because we are in a lab, please do wear closed-toe shoes. Just a little WHS stuff :)
Welcome Night Sem 1 2015!
Great turn out to welcome night on Friday week 1. We had talks about what the club is about and our plans for this year, projects including NIARC and the QUTRC sumo-bot competition, and the workshops schedule for semester 1. We also had guests from several other clubs and some academics present. And of course, …
2015 Semester 1 O-Week!
QUT Robotics Club had a great o-week this semester. We had a new stall with lots of cool robots on display, and lots of new members signed up. Hopefully, we’ll see them all at our welcome night in week 1, workshops in the first half of semester, and joining projects like NIARC or sumo-bots!
